The elastic coupling on a forklift is used to transmit power between the transmission and the drive axle

Elastic couplings, also known as couplings, are mainly used to connect the transmission shafts of various mechanisms. Due to different mechanical equipment, the functions of various elastic couplings are also slightly different. For example, on forklifts, elastic diaphragm couplings are used to transmit power between the transmission and the drive axle. The heat treatment of elastic couplings is a functional operation technique that involves the organic combination of metal or alloy in the solid state, through family, insulation, and cooling, to modify the internal arrangement of the metal or alloy. The heat treatment of elastic couplings is an indispensable part of modern mechanical and metallurgical industries to improve product quality and extend the service life of machine parts.

The heat treatment of elastic plum blossom couplings is divided into preparation heat treatment and post heat treatment. In modern industrial production, the heat treatment of elastic couplings has become an important technical regulation. This is due to the excellent mechanical properties of steel and certain alloys, such as high hardness, strength, elasticity, and wear resistance. The flexible coupling with convenient assembly and disassembly, no maintenance, long maintenance cycle or convenient maintenance, no need to move two shafts for wearing parts, and easy alignment and adjustment shall be selected.

It is difficult to adjust the alignment of two shafts for large machinery and equipment, and elastic couplings that are durable and easy to wear should be chosen. Metal elastic element flexible elastic couplings generally have a longer service life than non-metallic elastic element flexible elastic couplings. The need for sealed lubrication and the use of non durable elastic couplings will inevitably increase maintenance workload. For situations with long-term continuous operation and high economic benefits, such as the high-speed end of the rolling mill transmission system in metallurgical enterprises in China, toothed elastic couplings are currently commonly used. Although toothed elastic couplings theoretically transmit large torque, they must be lubricated and sealed well in order to work durably. And it is necessary to regularly check the sealing condition, inject lubricating oil or grease, which requires a large maintenance workload, increases auxiliary working hours, reduces working hours, and affects production efficiency.
